The largest professional event organised by our sister organisation, the Hungarian Economic Association of Romania, will be held between 5 and 7 October 2018 in Sfântu Gheorghe. The 27th Itinerant Meeting of Economists will be titled “Competitiveness 2020: who will rule in the 21st century?” More than 30 presenters reputed in Hungary and abroad will share their thoughts with the audience in six plenary presentations and six sections. About 300 participants are expected in the audience.

As before, the event will consist of plenary meetings and sections. The first similar conference of the Romanian association had been held in 1992. The 16th Itinerant Meeting in Debrecen in 2007, organised in cooperation with the Hungarian Economic Association, was a standout event, and so was the 25th conference in 2016, which, unlike the previous meetings, took place outside Transylvania, in Bucharest. Over 500 presenters from around the world have contributed to the Association’s conferences over the years.

This year’s itinerant meeting will focus on how the business environment is changing as technology progresses. The plenary meetings and six thematic sections will be available to discuss the contribution of finance, IT, agriculture, tourism, marketing and fintech to improving competitiveness. Reputable experts will review options and challenges related to developing the country and society, in view of the need to meet the demands of a global market.
