The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Veszprém County, the University of Pannonia, the Municipality of Veszprém and the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) signed a cooperation agreement on Tuesday in Veszprém. The first important step of the cooperation will be the organisation of the 63rd Itinerant Meeting of Economists. The largest annual conference of the Hungarian economists’ society will be hosted by the University of Pannonia on 4-5 September 2025. The agreement was signed on Tuesday afternoon at the University of Pannonia by Attila Simon, President of the Veszprém County Chamber of Commerce and Industry, József Péter Tóth, Vice-Rector of the University of Pannonia and Zsolt Csillag, Chancellor, Gyula Porga, Mayor of Veszprém and Gyula Pleschinger, President of the Hungarian Economic Association.
The aim of the cooperation is to form a bridge between the university, the local business community and the civil sector, thus contributing to the socialisation and practical use of the scientific activities and research results of the University of Pannonia for the benefit of the businesses of Veszprém County by promoting knowledge transformation and knowledge utilisation. The aim is also to enable the university’s students to acquire practical, marketable knowledge beyond the classroom and the network of contacts essential for a successful life. To this end, the HEA undertakes to organise prestigious conferences and professional lectures at the University of Pannonia in the future; to give the university’s lecturers and researchers the opportunity to appear at its events; and to help and support the establishment and operation of a HEA youth organisation at the University of Pannonia in cooperation with the university.
The Hungarian Economic Association is expecting around 600-700 economists from the Carpathian Basin to attend the 63rd Itinerant Meeting on 4-5 September 2025 in Veszprém. The conference programme will be available soon at https://kozgazdasz-vandorgyules.blog.hu/.
