Private Healthcare is a Public Matter. This is the title of the professional roundtable discussion organized by the Demographic Section of the Hungarian Economic Association on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 2:00 PM, via Webex and on the HEA YouTube channel.
Participants of the discussion — Péter Hugó Asztalos, analyst at the Hungarian National Bank; Viktória Keszler, co-founder of the Different State in Obstetrics movement; and János I. Tóth, philosopher and demographer, habilitated associate professor at the University of Szeged — will address topics including the impact of phasing out informal payments in obstetric care and the reasons behind the rise of private maternity hospitals. The discussion will be moderated by Anita Élő, journalist at Válasz Online.
