The professional event with officer elections of the Public Finance Section of the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) will focus on the financial management of local governments. It will take place on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 3:00 PM in the HEA community space (ELTE Faculty of Law, Building B, 1053 Budapest, Kecskeméti St. 10–12, 4th floor, Room 403), as well as on the HEA YouTube channel.
Speakers at the event: Ábel Berczik, Deputy State Secretary responsible for public finance regulation, human and municipal budgeting at the Ministry for National Economy, and a member of the board of the HEA Public Finance Section (Options for reducing income disparities among local governments); and Dániel János Plósz, Finance Manager at AVIS Hungary and Secretary of the Section (Economic development opportunities for local governments, based on the example of Heves County). Participants will be welcomed and a report on the past three years of the Section will be presented by Richárd Adorján, Deputy State Secretary responsible for the budget at the Ministry for National Economy and President of the HEA Public Finance Section.
In connection with the event, the HEA Public Finance Section will hold its upcoming officer election. The link to the electronic ballot will be sent by email one week prior to the event to members of the Section who are eligible to vote—i.e., those without outstanding membership fees. The results of the election will be announced at the April 23 event and on the HEA website.
