Energy Market 101: The Middle East, security of supply, and the Hungarian reality — this is the title of a conference organized by the Debrecen Youth Committee of the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA), to be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 5:00 PM at the University of Debrecen, Böszörményi Road Campus (Debrecen, Böszörményi út 138), in Room Tessedik E01. The speakers at the event will be Ágnes Horváth, Lead Economist at MOL Group and member of the board of the HEA’s Economic Policy and Economic Theory Section, and Tamás Pletser, oil and gas analyst at Erste.
The speakers will present the fundamentals of how energy markets operate, with particular focus on the role of the Middle East, as well as global energy market trends. The presentations will also cover the current situation, challenges, and future prospects of Hungary’s crude oil and natural gas supply.
