The response given by a large oil company to the challenges posed by climate change, renewable energy, the rise of electromobility and global geopolitical uncertainty is an exciting question. The issue will be addressed by Zsolt Hernádi, Chairman of MOL Nyrt. on the final day of the 58th Itinerant Conference of Economists.

The opening presentation of the largest annual conference of Hungarian economists will be delivered as usual by György Matolcsy, Governor of the MNB on Thursday, 24 September 2020 from 10 a.m. The opening session will be followed by the presentations of László Domokos, President of the State Audit Office, Bertalan Farkas, retired brigadier general, cosmonaut and Tamás Freund, President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, accessible through live video streaming at the website of the Conference. Friday’s first speaker, as usual, will be Mihály Varga, Minister of Finance. His presentation will be followed by those of Zsolt Hernádi, Chairman of MOL, Dávid Baranyai, CEO of NN Insurance and László Parragh, President of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

On both afternoons two thematic panel discussions will take place from 2 p.m., accessible at the website of the Conference in an interactive form, allowing the members of the audience to ask questions via a mobile app.

In addition to the live-stream plenary and roundtable sessions, interesting discussion sections will also be featured at this year’s conference. The discussion sections and roundtables, the recording of which began last week in the HEA Community Centre, will be accessible from 24 September at the website of the Conference.
